How to set up a simple shift

What is a simple shift?

Simple shifts involve setting consistent shift times from Monday to Sunday, maintaining uniformity and predictability in work schedules throughout the week. For example, Monday to Friday 12pm to 8pm. Simple shifts are set schedules that remain consistent throughout the week without any variations or changes.

To set up a simple shift, you will need to log in with your Administrator credentials at: https://pivot.alert.alertmeter.com/Admin/

  1. Access the Shift Management Tab in Pivot, then proceed to choose the Simple Shifts section.
  2. If you are creating a new Shift for a new Shift structure, proceed with Creating a new Shift.

  3. Within the New Shift form, select the days the shifts will occur and include the shift start time and end time.  Remember to set the correct Time Zone for the shift.

A day selected will be highlighted in orange. This indicated the set day. In this example below:
  • The Shift Name is Crane Ops
  • The Time Zone for this shift is set to Brisbane Time
  • The Roster for this shift is set to Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 to 17:00.

Don't forget to save the new shift after you have finished setting it up completely.

Navigating back to the Simple Shifts Tab, the new shift will be displayed within the list. As this is a new shift, no employees will be assigned to the shift until you assign them to that shift. Employees can only be assigned to one shift at a given time.

  1. Access the Employee's profile in Pivot to make necessary adjustments.
  2. Assign the employee to their designated Pivot shift schedule.
  3. Remember to save the updated information.
